As your Doula, I will work by your side as you prepare for your birth; present in each moment with a spirit of love and compassion. I will provide the emotional, educational and physical support you need not only during labour, but throughout your pregnancy and postpartum as well.
Meet Dawn Styles Doula
Hello, my name is Dawn and as your Doula, I will be here to support you along your journey. The support I offer is unique to you and your individual family and will depend on what you need.
A little about me... I live in March with my husband and 4 children aged 18, 15, 14 and 7. I have always worked in a caring role starting with caring for the elderly, moving on to working as a dental nurse and then on to childcare and child development, which I have over 10 years experience in with a Level 3 Qualification. I have worked alongside families with various additional needs and disabilities, three of my own children are on the autistic spectrum with sensory processing disorder, so I have extensive knowledge in this area. I have completed my Level 2 Qualification in Understanding Autism and have attended many training courses on Inclusion, Safeguarding and Paediatric first-aid.
During my time working with children I realised the importance of supporting mothers during pregnancy and the lack of support often offered, here my interest in birth work began.
I trained as a Doula in June 2018 with Developing Doulas and I completed my NCT Breastfeeding Peer Support training in Dec 2018. I have since trained in ‘Closing the bones’ ceremony, 3 Step Rewind, Rebozo for birthworkers, and many other areas. I attend relevant courses as they are offered as I love learning new skills that I can pass on to support people around me, helping people to feel good is something that I adore.

Dawn is the most incredible lady and so kind and chilled. Her whole aura is calming and empowering and she listens to everything without judgement. She is so knowledgeable and if she didnt know something she would go and find out for me. She is kind, funny and loving and id like to hope we have become good friends. Dawn was amazing, I literally cannot thank her enough for everything she did for me and little Eddie before, during and after the birth.
I only had opportunity to meet with her twice before my baby decided to come 5 weeks early, but in those meetings I felt Dawn gave me a wealth of information on all my options and rights, which left me feeling much more confident about the birth.
When labour started suddenly, Dawn dropped everything to be with me.
Although my plans of a home water birth were shattered by baby coming early, Dawns presence brought me calmness and the hospital didn't seem so scary after all.
Throughout the labour, Dawn was by my side every single second for 16 hours! She seemed to know exactly what I needed and when I needed it. Dawn also reminded me of my options and choices which weren't always offered by the doctors.
I also feel Dawn connected really well with my midwife and I could not ask for a better team to bring my little boy into this world.
I am so happy that I got to share this amazing experience with such an amazing lady 💗

Dawn is such a friendly and approachable person, and we felt instantly comfortable with her. We only decided on having a Doula at the last minute so didn’t get a great deal of time to get to know one another, but Dawn knew me inside out by the time I went into labour. I felt completely safe and 100% supported and empowered to have the birth I wanted. Her post natal support has been fab too. I would 100% recommend her! Thank you so much for everything ❤️
